Understanding Robbery & Texas Law
Robbery is a theft crime which is viewed from a serious perspective due to the added component of violence, or a threat of violence. Therefore, robbery is handled in a far more severe fashion than the run-of-the-mill theft or shoplifting charge.
Robbery is a felony offense. If you’re arrested for robbery, you’ll be treated as a dangerous felon throughout your experience with the criminal justice system, and throughout your life as this charge will stay on your criminal background if you’re convicted in the court of law of the offense.
Defining Robbery, Penalties
